We’d climbed a crane pretty much on top of this place above but had always thought it was open, turns out it has been shut for seven years. After 145 years the church was closed in 2004 and within a private blog I had read that just after its closure the priests continued to unlock the church doors so that the congregation could continue until the council changed the locks a couple of weeks later. Religious people explore too you know.
Rookie’s occurrence in Manchester is now pretty regular considering he lives quite a few miles away, every time he has headed to the north west we have found something tidy to explore.
