Central Hydraulic Tower, Birkenhead

The photo above explains it all for me, that staircase. It has been a must see since starting this game.
Discovered by explorers back in 2006 it has shown that something of such beauty can just about remain intact throughout years of dereliction.
The tower was built back in 1868 by the then dock engineer Jesse Hartley and provided power for the masses of lock gates and bridges within Birkenhead docks.
The building was severely damaged in the second world war and never retained all of its original features. Climbing the stairs & ladders with Rookie and OneByOne shouting at the pigeons reminded me of the early days.
Much respect for this place, I hope Peel don’t destroy it.
